Hirudinea Genomics Consortium a UCSD website

	UCSD Earthworms.org BaNG Daphnia Genomics   Consortium			The purpose of this resource is to correlate Hirudinea genetics to biological function. Hirudinea is an ideal model for this purpose given its simple anatomy. Our aim is to develop a system that correlates physiological/biological data with genomic information. This involves establishing an information model that organizes experimental data that is used to provide a basis for making conclusions about biological activity. This consortium has been initiated by Dr. Eduardo Macagno's laboratory at the University of California, San Diego. The aim is to serve as a useful resource and collaborative medium for contributing towards the understanding of Hirudinea biology in particular and genomic knowledge in general.
